You know, SicilianMagpie was born from a crazy idea (like many good things in Sicily): to create an online showcase to reveal the hidden beauties of our land to the world. And believe me, we have treasures galore here!

This project is a bit like a caponata: a mix of different ingredients that together create something magical. We’re talking about architecture, art, traditions, culture, and of course, gastronomy (because let’s face it, in Sicily we eat like gods). And let’s not forget the craftsmanship and typical products that make Sicily a unique place in the world.

The history of Sicily? Guys, it’s more intricate than a thriller! Think about it, we’ve been conquered by more peoples than I can count on my fingers: Greeks, Phoenicians, Romans, Vandals, Ostrogoths, Byzantines, Arabs, Normans, Spanish, Austrians, Bourbons… and the list goes on! The result? A cultural and genetic blend that has created today’s Sicilians. We’re like a cannolo: crunchy on the outside, but with a sweet and complex heart.

SicilianMagpie is still a young project, a chick just out of its egg, if you will. But I have big dreams! I hope to grow, to collaborate with other Sicily enthusiasts, to explore new paths that I might not even imagine right now.
