Aretusa Fountain

It is a mirror of water within the city environment. It is located in one of the most beautiful parts of Ortigia. Greek mythology tells that the god Alphas, son of Oceano, fell in love with a girl, Arethusa, seeing her bath naked. The young woman, fleeing from the intentions of the god, took refuge in the island of Ortigia and asked for help to Artemis who, to protect her, turned the girl into a fountain.
